Friday, June 19, 7:30 to 10 PM: with Tony Hyman (flute) and Veikko Geyer (violin) and Max Loeb (guitar) and some drummer Max knows at the Institute, providing background for our part of the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften festivities. Acoustic. Real Book tunes. Straight ahead, strive for tone. Saturday, June 20, whenever: the NTSO's beloved pianist, Perry Seibt, is celebrating her wedding, and the rhythm section is going to back her up while she sings a few love songs. Out in the sticks toward Wilsdruff somewhere. Acoustic. Wednedsday, June 24, 8 PM: with Unlimited Blues (i.e., Kowa and Bernd Kleinow) at Dixie Bahnhof. Acoustic? Electric? Haven't decided yet. Friday, June 26 at 7:30 PM: New Town Swing Orchestra at the BIOTEC summer party. We're done at ten, which is when Per Widlund and I will come racing back to the Institute summer party and do some serious catch-up drinking. Acoustic. Saturday, June 27 at 1 PM: Debut performance of Hot Buttered Grits (old school R&B) at Elbhangfest, specifically in front of our friend Karen Reimann's place a couple of doors west (i.e., toward town) of Gare de la Lune. Electric. Loud. Fast. And that's the end of the June marathon of gigs. Then it all goes quiet for a couple of months. And then: Friday, August 14 at 8PM: Hot Buttered Grits at Kunsthofgohlis. Saturday, August 15th at 8PM: Hot Buttered Grits at the Drogenmühle in Heidenau. Saturday, August 29 at 2 PM: New Town Swing Orchestra at Hechtfest (?). Acoustic. (Robert Masou will play bass at this one, because I'll be playing with Kowa at the Bluesfest Radebeul) Saturday, August 29th at 2PM: with Lutz "Kowa" Kowalewski at Bluesfest Radebeul (im Hof der Schmiede, Altkötzschenbroda). Electric or acoustic? Who knows? Saturday, August 29 at 8 PM: Hot Buttered Grits at Bluesfest Radebeul. Electric. And then quiet again, until: Saturday, October 10 at 9PM: Hot Buttered Grits at Kunsthofgohlis, again. Saturday, October 31 at 9PM: Da Blooz for Halloween with Kowa at the Red Rooster. Saturday, November 7 at 8PM: New Town Swing Orchestra at Prohibitionsparty 2009 in Feldschlösschen Stammhaus. Tuesday, November 17th at 9PM: Kowa at the Schmiede in Altkötzschenbroda. Why Tuesday? Because Wednesday is a Saxon holiday! Friday, November 27th at (I think) 8PM: with Unlimited Blues (i.e., Kowa and Bernd Kleinow) at Club Passage in Gorbitz. This will be my fourth time playing there. Maybe this time I won't get lost trying to drive there.
