Welcome to Xin Liang's webpage (Howard Lab, MPI-CBG)

Hey, I am a postdoc in Howard lab at MPI-CBG. My general research interest is to understand the physics and engineering principle behind various biological molecular machine, particularly those in the sensory processes. For instance, why molecules need cooperativity in biochemical reaction and how is the cooperativity achieved and regulated in real bio-systems? How the biological machines achieve their amazing signaling properties, for instance the super-fast response in mechanotransduction system, or single molecular sensitivity in Bacterial chamotaxis, or high precision and accuracy in the immunoreceptor (T-cell). The "machine" I have been studying since 2008 is the mechanotransduction channel complex in the microtubule-based mechanosensory neurons of fruit fly.
